38 hours, 10 minutes (and counting), 1600 words
That is how close I am to finishing my 2005 National Novel Writing Month novel, which I think I'm going to call "The Best Woman".
Last year, I only made it to about 25K words, so my excitement about achieving a goal I've always had for myself (writing a novel) is palpable. Palpable, people! If you were in the room with me, you would be able to touch it.
When I'm finished, I'm going to spend the next month sleeping as much as I possibly can. When I'm awake, I'm going to plot out my novel for next year. I don't have any ideas yet, but I bet once I get a good night's sleep, I'll get at least one.
In January, I'm going to print out "The Best Woman", and get out the red pen. I hope to get it to a point where I can show it to people without shame.
